FORD Motor Co. Inflatable Seat belt Approved

What is an inflatable seatbelt?

Inflatable seat belts are an advanced seat belt system offered in the back passenger outboard seats of a select few vehicles sold on the market. The seat belts are equipped with a build in airbag that is designed to increase the protection of the passengers chest by distributing the crash force over a larger area of the chest. Inflatable seat belts can be found in may Ford & Lincoln vehicles starting in 2011.  While the inflatable seat belt is an upgrade option, once they are installed you CANNOT have them removed.

If you do have inflatable seatbelts and do not have an approved car seat you may install using your LATCH. However each vehicle has specific weight limits for your lower anchors and may prevent you from installing your child seat with them.
