Screen time happens, do something about it with our blue light blocking glasses for computer use! Experts warn that blue rays from electronic devices can cause serious damage to eyes and even screw up your sleep patterns, so we decided to use our unbreakable frames to stop those pesky rays with our Anti-Visual Noise (AVN) blue blocker lenses!

  • Unbreakable frames - Our bendable, soft, durable frames are comfortable and ultra light!
  • Prescription quality lenses - We use lightweight, shatterproof, and high performance AVN lenses designed for durability. No prescription required! We use polycarbonate lenses; CA residents, see blue light FAQ Below for Prop 65 warning.
  • Blue light blocking protection - Block over 80% of the most harmful blue light rays (under wavelength 420 nm) and 99.9% UVA/B/C rays to protect your eyes.
  • Superior clear vision - No harsh yellow/orange colored lenses to distort your vision. Blue light blocking lenses can also help reduce glare, improve contrast, provide better color perception, and relieve digital eye strain.
  • Colorful frame options - You'll love the variety of color options we have for your blue light computer glasses in our stylish Wayfarer style frames.

Keep a pair of our glasses for computer use in your office and make it a habit to always wear them in front of a monitor, tablet, smartphone, or under LED lights. Blue blocker lenses reduce strain, headaches and that tired feeling your eyes have when staring at a screen too long. Blocking blue light the hour before bedtime is a critical factor in falling asleep! Trust us, your eyes will thank you!

Our lenses do not have the yellow/orange tint that you'll see with other AVN glasses, so they will not distort your vision.

BLUE LIGHT FAQ

  • Are all frames made the same, whether for baby, toddler, child, adult, prescription, or blue light blocking glasses? Do they all meet all the same safety standards/claims and at the same levels (i.e. lead free, heavy metal free, bpa free, etc)?

YES. All made of the same exact material with the same safety standards. All injected dyed color so no leaching is possible, molded logos, etc.
  • Are your blue light blocking lenses the highest percentage of blue light blocking that’s possible for this type of product?

We make no claim about having the highest percentage, but our lenses block over 80% of the most harmful wavelengths of blue light below 420nm. There are probably more expensive products out there that have that extremely dark yellow/ amber color that probably block more. Ours are a reasonable cost, practical (we do think we have the best type of frames of all the blue light glasses out there!), and block a useful amount of the harmful blue light associated with screen time. It is good protection and possibly the best value, but we can't claim best overall blocking protection ;)
  • Do you have testing to show that the blue light blocking glasses work?

YES. Please click here to see our AVN testing document from an independent lab. AVN stands for "anti visual noise" - that is what most eye care professionals call blue light glasses. This testing document shows the percentage of blue light that penetrated ("transmitted") through the lens in testing depending on the wavelength. The most harmful wavelengths of light are below 420nm which our lenses blocked over 80%. Let us know if you would like clarification on how to read the chart.

  • How do the blue light blocking glasses work since they aren’t tinted?

They do have a tint to them, it is just relatively mild compared to some other versions. If you hold the lens next to a clear lens or a window you can see it, but just looking at the wearer it is not super noticeable. If you want the most possible protection, it will be those very dark, syrup colored or bright yellow lenses. We found kids don't want to wear those when we researched this product, so they don't do as much good - would rather the child like wearing them and get good protection than not wear the ones that provide great protection
  • What are Screen Time Blue Light Blocking glasses?

Screen Time Blue Light Blocking glasses, also known as Anti-Visual Noise (AVN) glasses, block harmful blue light rays caused by electronic screens. They protect the eyes from these harmful rays and reduce eye strain, headaches, migraines, tired eyes, and stress on your vision.
  • What is blue light?

Just as your child learns in school, sunlight is made up of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet light. When combined, it becomes the white light we see. Each of these colors has a different energy and wavelength. Red light rays have longer wavelengths and less energy, where on the other end, blue light rays have shorter wavelengths (between 380 - 500 nm) and more energy.

There are two types of blue light. Natural blue light comes from the sun. Our body uses blue light from the sun to regulate our natural circadian rhythm (sleep and wake cycles), boost alertness, elevate your mood, and improve your overall feeling of wellbeing. Artificial blue light comes from digital screens like TVs, computers, smart phones, iPads, fluorescent and LED lights.
  • What percentage of blue light do your Screen Time glasses block?

Our screen time lenses have been laboratory tested to block over 80% of the most harmful rays that can be emitted by electronic devices - specifically that is light with wavelengths below 420 nanometers.
  • What type of AVN lens do you use?

The standard AVN lens we use is an impact-resistant polycarbonate material very commonly used in kids eyewear. Our lenses help protect your child's vision by holding up to rough-and-tumble play without cracking or shattering. Many eye care practitioners insist on polycarbonate lenses for children's eyeglasses for safety reasons.

The material is 30% lighter than standard plastic or glass, which makes them more comfortable to wear and less likely to slide down your child's nose. Our lenses also are about 20% thinner than standard plastic or glass lenses, so they are a good choice for anyone who wants slimmer, more attractive lenses. Blue Light Blocking glasses with polycarbonate AVN lenses block over 80% of the most harmful blue light rays (under wavelength 420nm) and also protect your child's eyes from harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation. The polycarbonate material is a natural UV filter, blocking over 99% of the sun's damaging UV rays.

There is also no harsh yellow/orange colored lenses to distort your child's vision. Blue light blocking lenses can also help reduce glare, improve contrast, provide better color perception, and relieve digital eye strain.

Please note, because we use a third party provider for this product, we do not make any claims as to the chemical components of this material and do not test them ourselves. Accordingly, the lens may contain trace elements of BPA, phthalates or other compounds. Our statements as to the safety of our product pertain only to the frames we produce, not the third party provided lenses.
